Frances Brander Edwards Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Frances Brander Edwards, 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 25, 2020. Ms. Edwards was born in New Windsor, New York on October 11, 1939 to Louis Arthur Brander and Katherine Bellinhoff Brander. At the age of 12, she traveled with her family to Hollywood, Florida. Ms. Edwards graduated from South Broward High School in 1957. Ms. Edwards was a loving mother who stayed home with her two children until her youngest left for college at FSU. She then started her career and became a very successful realtor in Plantation, Florida where she stayed and worked for many years. Ms. Edwards moved to Tallahassee in 2010 to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. She resided at Westminster Gardens for the past 3 years where she made dear friends and recently celebrated her 80th birthday at a surprise party hosted by her daughter, Christine Lamia. Ms. Edwards will be best remembered as an incredibly kind woman who looked out for others - regardless of the situation she found herself or others in. She had a long-lasting love for Elvis Presley and was lucky enough to attend the first concert Elvis performed in Miami, Florida, often reminiscing about how exciting it was to see Elvis live in concert. Ms. Edwards is survived, and missed by her loving daughter Christine E. Lamia and husband Vince, Ms. Edwards’ grandson Nicholas Lamia and his wife Kelsea, granddaughter Sarah Lamia, step-granddaughter Cori Lamia Taylor, two great-granddaughters Emorie Taylor and Atleigh Taylor. Ms. Edwards’ will also be missed by her sister Alice Pittman, her brother Louie Brander, her nieces, Ms. Edwards’ best friends and neighbors Fred Price and Virginia Evans, and her sister from another mother, Arlene Grimes who Ms. Edwards knew since they were young teenagers growing up in South Florida. Ms. Edwards is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dorothy Brander, her dear niece Dawn Pittman Simmons and her son Bill Edwards. A Memorial Service will be held in the outdoor garden at Westminster Gardens, located at 301 E. Carolina Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32301 at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, with Pastor Terry Delaney from First Baptist Church of Tallahassee presiding. The family is being assisted by James Sircy and cared for by Jackie Fulford at Young Fulford Funeral Home and Crematory.
