Doris Marie Yon

October 7, 1952 - January 24, 2022

Doris Marie Yon, (10/7/1952-1/24/2022), of Tallahassee, FL. passed away after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Over the last two years and until her final days she never lost her quick wit, sense of humor, positivity, as well as a desire to help and serve others. The last month Doris resided at Big Bend Hospice Center, where she received excellent and loving care. She was the proud mother of Melanie Nelson and James Bruce Robbins Jr. She treasured her grandchildren (Jake, Brianna, Jay and Josh) and was a loving mother-in-law. Doris never met a stranger, had a smile that lit up a room, laughter that instantly made your day better, and a love for God that was undeniable. To say she was intelligent and a hard worker is an understatement. While raising her children she simultaneously worked two jobs and completed a college degree. She grew up in Havana, FL. and was the youngest of John and Jane “Mama” Yon. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers (Albert and John), two sisters (Dorothy and Dale), and her cherished pets dogs, Chico and Harley. Survived by her children, grandchildren, sisters (Deretha and Maryanne), many nieces, nephews, cousins and so many friends, as she was a friend to all. “We love you Mom. We will keep you in our hearts. May your memory be eternal.” The family is being assisted by James Sircy and Jackie Fulford of Young Fulford Funeral Home.
