Carol Jean Laxton

Carol Jean Laxton was born to Eschol Ugene Whitmire and Cherry Silvia Whitmire on November 2, 1946 in Winter Haven, Florida. She lived in Crawfordville, FL and passed away January 14, 2021. Carol was a "young" 74 when she passed. She enjoyed anything that took her outdoors, including riding 4-Wheelers, fishing, and playing with her grandbabies, just to name a few. She loved to cook and eating catfish was one of her favorite meals. She also enjoyed trips to Panama City Beach with her family by her side. And Carol had a blast going to garage sale and farm shares with her best friend and partner in Crime, Debbie Hampton. At Carol became "Nana" with her first grandchild, and was called that by all of her family from thereafter. Although she had other hobbies, her grandbabies came first! She loved them with all of her heart and soul. She loved spending time with all of them. She got so much enjoyment out of helping Rowan and Bella compete in beauty pageants. And she loved it when Cannon would crawl up onto her lap and tell on the girls for being mean to him. And another favorite past time - arguing with Teddy and Jerry about just about any topic! Carol Jean Laxton is survived by her daughter Michelle Laxton-Lewis (and her husband Teddy Lewis); her grandbabies Rowan Laxton, Bella Lewis and Cannon Lewis; her brother Junior Whitmire and his kids Monica and George, her brother Buddy Timmerman and his children Jamie and Bobby Timmerman; her sister Beth Chapman; Jerry Don Laxton, her ex-husband and best friend; and her best friends Jennifer Nellum and Debbie Hampton. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Donald Whitmire. She made so many great memories with her family for them to hang onto. But life is just not the same without her. She is missed terribly and will never be forgotten. Her daughter Michelle said it best when she said "My best friend was my mom. From the day I was born, until the day she left me. She was my Best Friend." Michelle, there is no doubt your momma felt the same way.
