WILMA CARLTON McCALL JR.

Wilma “Carlton” McCall, Jr. a dedicated husband, stepfather, Pop Pop, and friend, passed away on February 5, 2025, at his home at the age of 80. Carlton was born July 3, 1944, in Quincy, FL, to his loving parents, Wilma Carlton McCall, Sr. and Nelle McCall. He was married to his loving wife Asela for almost 45 years and their bond was a testament to the power of true love and commitment. Carlton proudly served his country in the Army for three years and was awarded a Vietnam Service Medal for his service during the Vietnam War. He dedicated 36 years of his life to the United States Postal Service, where he worked tirelessly as a mail carrier. In his spare time, Carlton enjoyed umpiring softball games, fishing, spending time with family and friends, and he loved a good conversation. He was a dedicated volunteer in his community. He spent his time delivering meals on wheels to those in need and volunteering at the VA Hospital, where he brought comfort and support to veterans and their families in their time of need. His selfless acts of kindness and service touched the lives of many and left a lasting impact on those he helped. Carlton’s commitment to giving back to others exemplified his caring and compassionate nature, and he will be remembered for his generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. Carlton was a proud graduate of Tallahassee Junior College, where he earned his AA degree. He was a member of the First Baptist Church Woodville. One of Carlton’s greatest joys in life was his dogs, who brought him endless companionship and joy. Carlton is survived by his loving wife Asela, his stepdaughter Asela Flynn (Brian), stepson Michael Clark (Trevor Ann), Sister Patsy Lloyd (Dick), grandchildren Garrett Flynn (Maleah), Dylan Flynn (Abby), Michaela Clark, Sarah Snyder, Gracelin Clark, Tres Brumbley (Ashlyn), Dylan Brumbley and Tristan Brumbley. Great grandchildren Camilla and Cameron Flynn and Braxton Brumbley, sister-in-laws Lily McLaughlin (Roy), Griselle Mitcham (John), and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11 am at Life of Christ Church, Woodville, FL. Carlton leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience that will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
