In Loving Memory of Vincent Maurice Byrd (January 22, 1965 - February 5, 2025) Vincent Maurice Byrd entered this world on January 22, 1965, to Johnaton and Sylvia Forehand Byrd in Quincy, Florida. He departed this life on February 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, curiosity, and devotion to family. After receiving his diploma from the Gadsden County School Board, Vincent pursued a course in air-conditioning and refrigeration at Lively Vocational School in Tallahassee. This introduction to electronics sparked a lifelong fascination with all things electric, leading to a career in building and repairing computers. He had a natural talent for problem-solving, often lending his skills to help family and friends with their technical troubles always appreciating a great home-cooked meal from his aunts or a good conversation in return. Vincent found joy in the simple wonders of the world. He was a birdwatcher and a skygazer, often pausing to take a photo and admire the beauty of nature that others might overlook. Whether capturing phenomenal shapes in the clouds, the brilliance of a sunrise, or the twinkle of distant constellations, he saw magic in the everyday. His collection of photos showcased the intricate beauty of flowers, vegetable blossoms, fruits, and berries, and is a reflection of his deep appreciation for life’s natural rhythms. He was an excellent pool player, gladly helping others improve their game. He also loved music of all kinds and left several discs of original music as well as a collection of guitars. Yet, among all his interests, fishing remained his greatest love. The salt air, the quiet patience, and the thrill of the catch mostly along the coast from Alligator Point to St. George brought him the greatest peace. His happiest moments were spent by the water, especially when joined by his young sons or anyone he could persuade to share in his favorite pastime. Vincent was a man of faith, drawing strength and solace from worship and music. WAY Radio became his steadfast companion, providing comfort and support throughout his long illness. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished by those who knew and loved him. Vincent leaves behind his beloved mother, Sylvia Byrd; a sister Vanessa Byrd Eastman (David) of Tallahassee; four sons, Vincent Maurice Jr. of Atlanta, Kelvon of Havana, FL, and Johnaton, and Andrew of Tallahassee; his daughter, Shanyce Blossom of Anaheim, California; two cherished grandsons, RaShun and Ayden and a beloved nephew, Bryant Byrd Shaw; two devoted aunts, Ella White and Lynn Brown, along with a host of cousins, extended family, and dear friends. Vincent’s presence, his generosity to the homeless, and his keen eye for beauty will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest peacefully, forever embraced by the skies he so loved to watch.
