Obituary for Richard Dewine Heath Sr. Richard “Dick” Dewine Heath Sr.,“Coach Heath” of Tallahassee, Florida passed away peacefully at his home on September 21, 2021, at the age of 85. Dick was the loving husband of Jeannie Jeannette “Nee” (Hall) for 55 years. Dick was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire to the late Edgar Charles and Catherine Heath on November 16, 1935. With the consent of his father he enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of seventeen and proudly served during the Korean War aboard the USS Turner. After being honorably discharged from the Navy he moved to Tallahassee, Florida where he obtained his barber license and worked in the profession he loved for over 60 years. Dick was affectionately referred to over the years as “Coach”. He was a staple in the Northwood Mall and the Little Red barbershop where he shared countless stories with his beloved clients along with his passion for Florida State football. On his days off he enjoyed fishing, especially on the Econfina River with his wife Jeanette and his stays at their campsite. He loved his family, his country and his beloved Seminoles and will be greatly missed by all. Dick is survived by the love of his life, Jeannie Jeannette “Nee” (Hall) Heath; his children whom he adored, Richard (Christa) Heath, Tammy Heffner (Ron Vanderhei), Richard Dewine Heath Jr. and Catherine (Kenneth) Chustz; his wonderful grandchildren, Corey Heffner, Jeremy Heffner, Kaitlyn Heffner, Ava Heath, Daniel Heath, Logan Heath, Angelle Bauer, Miranda Wright, Jacob Chustz, and Justin Chustz; his adorable great grandchildren, Howard, Cody, Vincent, Hannah, Wesley, Lucas, Jacob, Savannah, Lyzeck, Alex, Celia and Wyatt; and his precious great grandchildren, Karisma and Felicity. Dick was a beloved uncle, brother-in-law, and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill and his son in law, Ward Heffner. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 10:00 AM, with a Memorial Service following at 11:00 AM, at the Seminole Baptist Church in Tallahassee, FL. Dick will receive Full Military Honors by the United States Navy, in honor of his brave service to our great Nation.
