Patsy Ann Roberts

Patsy Ann Roberts, mother, wife and friend, to her family and close friends, died on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023, in Tallahassee, Florida after living a loving and caring life. Pat was born December 10, 1936, in Madill, Oklahoma to Ky Johnson and Hazel Anna Hampton. Pat graduated from Madill High School with high academic honors and participated in many school club functions. She was a voracious reader and at times could read a book in one day. Pat was always working to help raise and care for her family, as she dearly loved her children. She later relocated to Tallahassee, where she met William F. “Bill” Roberts. She met Bill at a social gathering where they enjoyed dancing together and socializing with other couples. It was love at first sight for both, and it became what would be 34 years of a joyful and loving marriage. Pat worked at the State Department of Corrections as a case analyst. She loved her work and was commended for the quality and quantity of her work. Her warm and outgoing personality was a large factor in solving complex analytical issues. Pat was highly intelligent and always seeking a new challenge. She was offered a position at Meryl Lynch as an assistant to a broker. Pat studied hard and learned about the Market, becoming one of the top assistants at the brokerage firm. Upon Bill's retirement, they relocated to Springfield, Missouri to be closer to many of Pat’s family members. Pat wanted to try the Antique Business. And so, she did. She was highly successful as she attended auctions and estate sales seeking to find that “Diamond in the Rough” and to outbid other dealers. After five years in Missouri, Pat decided they needed to relocate back to Tallahassee so Bill could be closer to his family. So back they came. Upon returning to Tallahassee, Pat realized she needed one more year working for the State of Florida in order to be vested for retirement benefits. The very first position she applied for; Pat was hired. She spent her last year working for the State as the Executive Secretary for the Director at the State of Florida Fire Marshall’s Office, fulfilling her retirement benefits requirement. Thereafter, she entered into full retirement. Pat was preceded in death by her infant son, Robert Franklin Fuller, and her sister Naomi Sowder. Pat leaves behind her husband William F. “Bill” Roberts, a son Wendyl Lee Fuller, Jr., a daughter Leigh Ann Davis, a son James Morris Hyde and a sister Janie Carter. Pat will forever be known for her amazing, beautiful smile, her quick wit humor, and the love she showed to her husband, family, and friends. Pat will be dearly missed by her husband, family, and everyone who knew her. In lieu of Flowers, the family suggests you make a donation to your favorite charity, in honor of Pat. A “Celebration of Life” for the family will take place at St. George Island this summer, at a date yet to be determined.
