In Memoriam: Harry Bloodsworth III (July 17, 1933 - January 11, 2024) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Harry Bloodsworth III, a beloved father, husband, friend, grandfather, great-grandfather, and faithful servant of God. Harry transitioned to his heavenly home on January 11, 2024, with his bride of 70 years, Sally, by his side. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his faith. Born on July 17, 1933, in Philadelphia, PA, to Harry Bloodsworth II and Gladys Ogden. He was the oldest of 4 children and was preceded in death by brothers John and Clem Bloodsworth, and survived by his sister, Susan Bloodsworth. The Bloodsworth family has a legacy of compassion and community service. Throughout his life, Harry exempliﬁed these values, becoming a respected ﬁgure in both his personal and professional endeavors. He is survived by his wife Sally of 70 years, his sons Harry Bloodsworth (Jan) and Glenn Bloodsworth and daughters Cathleen Bass (Al) and Ellen Irving (Mark). He is survived by 7 grandchildren: Jeﬀ Bloodsworth (Grace), Shaun Bloodsworth, Alison Earnest (Chris), Stephanie Shaw (Stack), Morgan Fitch (Brandon), Hayden Bass (Kelsey),Steven Irving (Chelsea); and 17 great grandchildren: Elisabeth Bloodsworth, Hannah Bloodsworth, Katrina Bloodsworth, Michelle Bloodsworth, Ethan Bloodsworth, Benjamin Bloodsworth, Cabella Earnest, Peter Bloodsworth, Shaelyn Shaw, Samuel Bloodsworth, Timothy Bloodsworth, Samuel Shaw, Truett Fitch, Maverick Irving, Saylor Shaw, Annabelle Irving, and Emerson Fitch. Harry married the love of his life on September 4, 1953 in Springﬁeld, PA after graduating high school. Harry graduated from Lehigh University, a private research institute in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He spent his career working in the metallurgy industry. A devoted family man, and adventurer, Harry's life was a testament to the sacred bonds of love and family. His departure leaves a void that can only be ﬁlled with the memories of his guidance, love, and the countless moments spent together in prayer and fellowship. His dedication to family and his unwavering faith will be remembered as one of his greatest contributions. He grew up racing sailboats with his family. His love for sailboat racing brought him joy and many trophies. Harry's intellectual curiosity led him into the world of stock trading, where he skillfully navigated the ﬁnancial markets with a keen eye for opportunity. His ventures in the world of ﬁnance were a testament to his sharp mind and strategic acumen. He enjoyed historical novels and biographies of political ﬁgures. A passionate traveler, Harry explored the world with a sense of wonder and appreciation for diverse cultures. His journeys were not just about discovering new landscapes but also about connecting with people and broadening his understanding of the world. Harry's faith was the guiding force in his life, providing solace and strength in times of joy and adversity. His unwavering trust in the divine plan and his commitment to living a life reﬂective of his spiritual beliefs were inspirational to all who knew him. As we mourn the loss of Harry, let us also celebrate the rich and meaningful life Harry lived. In honoring his memory, may we draw inspiration from his deep faith and strive to emulate the love, compassion, and unwavering trust in God that deﬁned his journey.
