Benjamin Paul Simmons

Benjamin Paul Simmons was born on August 11, 1981, and was welcomed into Heaven by God and reunited with his parents Sara & John Simmons on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. Ben is survived by his wife Natalie Simmons, sons Benjamin Simmons, Jr. and Brandon Simmons, and sisters Jennifer, Katherine, Diana and Stephanie. And yes, he was born smack dab in the middle of four girls and excelled at braiding hair and painting nails. When Ben was not turning a wrench as a master mechanic, he could be found on outdoor adventures with his family, having cook outs, and extending a helping hand. Nothing made him happier than exploring with his boys. Ben would be the first person to call if you ever had a question or problem that you needed help on as he was always willing to lend his intelligence, time and expertise to all. He would, and did, give the shirt off of his back to those who needed it. Ben was not a stranger to adversity or making mistakes. He did, however, do his best to correct those mistakes and overcome the obstacles he was faced with. “Well, hey now,” was a common greeting you would get as he smiled upon seeing you. Well, for those of us he loved anyway – not sure how he greeted the unfortunate souls that he didn’t like. It was pretty much a guarantee when meeting up with Ben that you would be greeted with a smile and find yourself laughing before the conversation ended. He had this amazing ability to light up the night (as he loved to be outdoors). Ben’s love for God was second to none and he would share that love with others. I can see and hear him as I am writing this saying to us, “Well, hey now. Don’t cry for me. I am now where I am meant to be. I have given Grammy and Papa John a hug for you. I am happy here and I will save a place for you. Live your dreams, be persistent in moving forward. Know that I am with you. I love you and I am proud of you.” A Celebration of Life for Ben will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Lasseter House, 6150 Shady Rest Road, Havana, FL 32333. The family is being assisted by Skip Young and cared for by Jackie Fulford, of Young Fulford Funeral Home and Crematory.
